Why Would Anyone Want to Block the Release of This CD?

Over the last week, I've watched a few "loud" individuals take some unfortunate shots at this exquisite new release. In some cases, perhaps they are purists who don't believe the original music should be touched. In another case, someone who used to be "very" close to Patsy who may be mad because his palms aren't getting greased, I don't know. I can respect the purists point of view. I love the original Patsy recordings too. But, I also love the recordings on this new cd. Patsy's voice was unique. This new cd gives us a chance to hear her voice in a way we haven't before. Who wouldn't want that? I certainly do. As I respect the purists point of view, they should respect mine as well. No one is making them buy the cd (I'll bet they do). It's certainly fine for them to register their opinion, but why the vitriol? Why the attempt to silence this cd? The original music and this wonderful new cd can co-exist. And they will, regardless what these "critics" say. If Mary Reeves had listened to the purists and naysayers, Jim Reeves career would have ended July, 1964. Instead, he had a career that lasted longer, after his death, than before. A poster on another website was complaining this cd might put Patsy on the radio in competition with Taylor Swift. So what? Put Patsy on the radio alongside Taylor Swift! Let listeners hear what a real voice sounds like without all the gimmicks they have to add to the singers of today to make them fit some lawyer's idea of marketability! I have all the cds that Larry has produced on Jim Reeves. Knowing what those are like, this one will be a stunner!
