Feedback from Manchester Beginners Workshop March 2017

I have suffered from paruresis for at least 20 years. After finding out about the UKPT and their workshops, it only took me 10 yrs to finally pluck up the courage to attend one. Please don't make the same mistake that I did. Yes its scary turning up in a strange room with other "weirdos" but you realise within 5 minutes that actually none of you are weird at all! Everyone was disappointingly normal. It was such a relief spending time with guys from all walks of life and all ages who suffered the same problem you did and were prepared to learn from and support each other. The course leaders - Ian and Andrew - were AMAZING!!!! They very quickly put all our minds at rest and I think everyone made substantial progress through the weekend. We actually had fun - maybe that is a bit weird, lol! By the course end, I was able to pee in a urinal in a large public toilets in the Arndale Shopping Centre. That is one HUGE step for me. I know I am not "cured". I still have lots of homework to do, but for the first time ever I feel that I can solve this problem that has blighted my life for such a long time. Please sign on to the next course. After the first few minutes of awkwardness, you won't regret it. A massive thank you to Ian, Andrew and all my fellow attendees for your help! Mark
