In my innocence I firstly assumed that I was the only one suffering from a shy bladder but logic told me that there had to be other ladies out there who couldn't wee away from home. I was astonished to find that men too can also be affected. I had always envied the men, with their simple unzip-and-go capability and ached to be able to so simply relieve myself behind a wall or hedge or even use a urinal like a normal man. The next surprise was that the men outnumber us ladies with this problem. Oh, poor chaps! It's bad enough for us girls but at least we aren't expected to be comfortable going behind a tree or whatever. Of course, paruresis sufferers of either sex may find it impossible to get relief in this manner, or indeed, any manner that's not our home loo. All I can say is "Sorry guys for my assumption that none of you could suffer from paruresis."
