We had a nice visit, he had just arrived from his chemo treatment, his daughter was with him . I told him from my heart when I am down and missing all my deceased family members, I ask Jim to go visit him as he is always so cheerful and makes me feel better. He told me I am not the only one that tells him that, isn't that amazing for someone that has only one leg, fighting cancer and kidney issues and still believes he will be returning to live in his home again. He pointed out a few gifts visitors have taken him, classmates, but I am sure others too. We took a patriotic plaque and Jim put it on the wall beside his bed.He was using a a red, white and blue patchwork quilt that he said the volunteers had given him. I am so glad he is in a Vet nursing home now, so much better than the private rehab ones he was in before.
