Festivals were spread out here, Fri, Sat and that drew folks to the music and food trucks. I know there were public fireworks that most like, the prices are so high, I hear. I was up til midnight the 4th and there were just a few pops, not enough to complain about. I really think most could not afford what they were used to in times past.

Our SIL attends classes thru the year learning to make fireworks and gets licenses, etc. Each yr on their 17 acres he and dau have friends and neighbors gather for a cookout and show, Daughter reported about 50 attended, nice time and no mishaps. Someone did video it this yr and we will be watching. We were to attend but Jim has been under the weather and we need to stay close to his Dr.
