Mine was my 5th grade teacher Miss Loucks. She was very stern and strict and everyone was afraid of her, but she kept order in the class which was filled with a bunch of hellions. She was the childhood friend of my Mother's and I learned she was a nice person but she was a disciplinarian and took no nonsense. I felt safe in her class.

Miss Loucks always let us draw on the back of our papers if we got done early. I brought a math paper home with a bad grade because I was terrible in math. I had drawn a picture on the back. My mother went to her and asked why she allowed me to draw on the back when my math was so bad and I should have been working on that. Miss Loucks told her "Leave her alone. Math is not her subject. I'll see to it that she passes for the year. She likes to draw and she's good at it. Encourage her in that direction". She was very insightful.
