I grew up in a rough, German neighborhood in the city. I was very lucky because I was the only one I knew who furthered their education and got training in the art field. Most of the other people in the neighborhood worked at factory jobs or menial, really hard, unpleasant jobs. However I did not expect the discrimination women faced in my field. That is the way it was back then. You would expect that your worth was based on how good you were, but back then it was not the case. Men were valued more than the women.
I worked and became good at what I did. Then I married Hb and moved to the country. I never expected that. We've been together 38 years. Didn't expect that either. So my life was different than what I expected. There were good times and there were bad times. My life wasn't exciting but it was OK.
