I liked Jesus of Nazareth. It seemed more natural and human than a lot of Biblical movies. I found that movie to be inspiring even as a non-Christian.

Some of the old, Biblical movies I find to be overly dramatic by looking through todays eyes. But people like them and if inspires folks to be a better person, so be it.

I never understood the story of Jesus. I mean you heard about the Pharisees and the money changers, etc. from the time you were little but little kids often don't understand what that was about. I was in art school and a group of us kids went to see Jesus Christ Superstar in the theaters. My friend sitting next to me sat through the whole movie explaining the story of Jesus as it happened on the screen. For the first time in my life I finally understood. I am thankful to my friend Don for patiently explaining it to me.
