I saw the most touching video. It was of an elderly dying primate. I don't if this was an ape, a chimp or what kind of primate, but she was fairly big and I don't know if this was a zoo animal, or a research primate but she was cared for her entire life by people. She was now very old and gray and was lying in a bed in a fetal position. She had stopped eating and drinking and was preparing for death as living things sometimes do. An elderly man walks in. He was her caregiver from years ago. He gently starts to stroke and pet her. She opens her eyes and stares at him. She finally recognizes who it is after all those years and she strokes his gray hair. She starts talking to him as if saying good bye. He starts making soft comforting sounds to her and puts his face down next to hers. She puts her arms around his neck and hugs him and pats him like a person would when giving someone a hug. So human-like. They continue "talking" to each other until all that needed to be said between the two was said. She then turned away and closed her eyes seeming at peace. I cried when I saw that. Everything is connected. |
