Yes. Luckily our bank looks for suspicious activity and shuts down the account. About a year or so ago someone must have hacked us and started using our account to run up bills on dating sites. The bank contacted us and said our account was frozen because of suspicious activity. They said our past bills indicated that maybe someone else was using our account since dating sites didn't sound like us. They gave us a new card and we didn't have to pay anything either to them or to the dating sites. It was just an inconvenience.

You never hear anything more. You don't know if the authorities go after these scammers or if they just forget about them.
