I get that it’s not nice or appropriate to use when referring to someone with true intellectual disabilities, such as Downs Syndrome, but no one ever uses it in that context anymore.

It’s use as a slur to refer to someone of seemingly normal intellectual faculties who chooses to be obtuse and espouse asinine opinions is a long standing part of American English vernacular and shouldn’t be purged by pearl clutching leftists like Sammich.

Frankly, the use of the N-word should get wider usage until the black community collectively decides to purge it from use, rather than embracing it like they have to the point they call everyone and everything that term, with the -‘a’ of course. I don’t accept the double standard that they’re the only ones who can use it.
