But no, some party had about a dozen seats before these elections: now had over 1200.

Okay, a correction on the numbers: the 1000 seat swing was NOT in Parliment, but one level below.

The British Parliament has 650 total members.

Did they have a big swing in power within the last week or so? Yes. But not the numbers I quoted above. Those people are a step below Parliament. My bad. :-(
