First dose just a little fatigue and the sore arm.

This one gave me chills then sweats at night. Seems to be done now though.

So I was doing chemo instead of the 2nd Shingrix. My doc said he figures the first dose should be enough.

My doctor suspects that my chronic right shoulder / upper biceps pain (which is actually doing pretty good right now) is likely a rotator cuff problem. I'm supposed to get x-rays taken, consult an ortho for a possible injection of some sort and give PT a try.

and profile I am 99.7% certain that you have bursitis. Do these exercises three times a week. Get the resistance band or join a gym and do the resistance exercises on cable machines with 2 or 3 pounds, whatever the lowest weight is:

If you do that 3x a week for 6-8 weeks there is a 99.7% probability your shoulder will be back to nearly normal. You just need to build up the fine muscles in it. Once you get back to normal you can reduce frequency to once or twice a week. Do not get a shot, you may further destroy the joint. Do not get PT, it is a grift. Do these exact exercises, watch a video if you need to.

When you feel better, you will come to realize that I speak the truth and go ahead and get Shingrix.

Ironically, my shoulder currently feels better now than it did for almost all of 2025 (and early 2026), I really believe weightlifting has helped to alleviate my symptoms (and my doctor agrees). But my doctor is nothing if not diligent and conscientious so we are going to minutely examine every aspect of this.

Shingles concerns me far more than the Germ. My wife got Shingles a couple years ago and was knocked on her ass for weeks. She had it on the ball of one foot and the heel of another and ended up throwing her back out so bad that she couldn't go anywhere for a week. Shingles can get in your eye and cause blindness.

Supposedly shingles prevalence is massively increasing because the theory is that exposure to chicken pox in adulthood keeps your immune system in check but now that chicken pox prevalence has plummeted due to the chicken pox vaccine. People in their 30s are now getting shingles, which was unheard of in the past. I will never take the COVID jab but I'm getting Shingrix within a week of turning 50.

The COVID jab mania caused a record amount of distrust in the medical system but this jab is one where the reward is well worth any risk because shingles sucks so fucking bad.

And I rarely get sick. I think I've called into work for being sick maybe 5 times in my life.

And no. No HIV here, and that was right around the time I was training for a triathlon, so I don't think I was super unhealthy.

I was just a lucky (and apparently rare) case. It was a very mild case though.

And the pneumonia shot(s). No side effects on any shot ever, so keep them coming. I get the annual flu shot, and I get COVID shots, given that my wife and daughter have "long COVID." They cannot afford to get it again.

I skipped the RSV because my doctor said I am very low risk, don't bother.
