Guy who killed a Chicago cop while getting "hospital treatment": may have been nephew of CPD Captain

It's all over the Chicago beat cops blogs out there; no confirmation from (what's left of) the mainstream press like the Trib, Sun-Times, TV/radio.
This guy's name is Alphanso Talley. Possible aunt/cousin is Yolanda Talley. And apparently she's had some crazy dealings with using her clout.
FWLIW: guy has tried the old "take me to the hospital because I swallowed a baggie full of pills" before. Worked for two hours this time, at the price of a dead cop and a cop who will never again be normal.
And again, FWLIW: lots of """outrage""" from various politician/public yapper opponents of Brandon Shite-for-brains. His prayer scarf-wearing allies are silent on this one.
Another piece of shit who had been released by the courts multiple times.*

Guns. Have them.
The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of tyrants.
Socialism is the gospel of envy.
Oh, big long speech from the last judge: ya know... "wish I didn't have to, but hands tied".
They're throwing the various judges under the bus, but so far, nothing about his "possible" family members.
And of course, just like so many old jokes: mom thinks her son is well, just perfect.
Accused killer’s mom speaks out
Talley’s mother, Tamika Nicole Vaughen, defended him during an interview with the Sun-Times, speculating about the evidence against him and detailing his long history of mental illness.
Vaughen said she’d spoken to him after his arrest, but “he said he don’t remember nothing.” She said Talley had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was in elementary school and that he’d been “institutionalized.”
“He’s a mental health patient,” she said. “I do know that. No one’s putting that in the news.”
Court records over the years have referenced his mental health.
Following Talley’s first adult arrest in 2017, a pre-trial service evaluation found he had a history of mental health problems and had previously sought treatment, according to court records. Another evaluation noted also that he used drugs.
He previously lived at Lawrence Hall, a social services agency and residential treatment center near Swedish Hospital, court records show.
As Talley continued to rack up charges, he was repeatedly ordered to undergo behavioral evaluations, although the findings of those reports were not available in public court records.
“I don’t care what nobody thinks about my son,” Vaughen said. “That’s my son.”
