A former U.S. soldier fighting for Ukraine was discussing the reality of drone warfare. If you are at or anywhere near the front, you have to assume that you are under constant 24/7 surveillance by various drones and satellites. Whenever you move (even just a single person), the Russians are almost certainly watching you. And then it's really just a question of whether they decide you are worth attacking via artillery, mortars and/or FPV attack drones. The longer you linger on camera, the more likely it is that the Russians are going to throw something at you, just for the fuck of it. As an example, if you leave your covered and concealed trench to take a dump nearby, you have no more than about 10 minutes before there could possibly be incoming on your position.

can occupy anywhere they’re not wanted (at least 80/20) anymore, unless it’s drones and robots because it’s like Gaza- everything gets blown up.

I think the "front" is multifaceted and thus pretty expansive. And it can differ wildly in nature from area to area. In some areas, the front is pretty remote (fields and woods). In other areas, it is urban. From some of the maps I have seen, there are all kinds of odd pockets and salients. Hardly a straight line.

There are at least some civilians still living in and around the towns and cities where the front lines are located. It's kind of surreal. But a lot of people, particularly older ones, have no options. Nowhere else to go.

I have no idea what that guy's deal is, but I've never seen worse propaganda in my entire life. Per that YouTube, the Russian position has collapsed at least 26 times by now.

I don't watch this stuff non-stop but I do watch enough that I would have expected that channel to be mentioned at least once or twice. Which maybe tells you something about it. Sounds like it is pretty bad.

I do occasionally watch another guy (whose name escapes me at the moment) who is bullish on Ukraine's fortunes. But not ridiculously so.
