The road. In that regard, October 7th changed the equation and made this all about prolonged self-defense. In the past, some rockets from Gaza would be returned with some action from IDF. This time though, 10/7 was finally the straw that broke the camels back. And given that Iran controls all of it, this current arena is the extension.

I too want an end to the fighting, but that will never happen until the world gets Iran and their proxies off Israel’s doorstep. The UN has failed to do that in Lebanon despite signed agreements. The UN also has enabled Hamas in Gaza.

I want my Israeli friends and family to live in peace.

to disrupt the Palestinian state and instigate a war with Iran. Israel is absolutely diabolical in their false flags and scheming. They were just caught firing missiles at our navy to blame Iran and try and draw Europe into the war.

More than a year ago I had no issues with them flattening Gaza as retribution for 10/7. But now seeing Israeli bloodlust and false flags you have to think that they wanted 10/7 to happen to give them political coverage to destroy Iran.

1. There are truths to the Hamas/ISIS stuff but those actions don’t exist in a vacuum. Hamas was supported as an alternative to Arafat’s communist/increasingly violent PLO. In its infancy, Hamas was a social services org meant to counter the PLO by endearing themselves with support for the people. Only later did Hamas turn to violence. ISIS is more complicated bc sometimes the enemy of your enemy is a friend. This is what happened in the mess that was Syria. In both of these cases, things simply aren’t black and white.

2. The false flag stuff you refer to are seem simply just items in a limb line of conspiracy theories with little proof. In fact, there is radar evidence that the missile attack did not originate from Israel. Jews seem to often get blamed for shit - like 9/11 conspiracy theories based on wild circumstantial crap. I hadn’t heard the Kirk/microphone thing, but I’m not shocked that there are conspiracy theories there too. Meanwhile, everything I’ve seen shows Kirk clearly shot.

Overall, war is ugly. Historically, Israel has given up more land for peace than any country in the ME. They aren’t trying to expand beyond securing buffers on the border. Lebanon is not a permanent thing - just trying to get civilians out of the way to clean up what the Lebanese Army and UN failed to do.

This part is a true story: apparently it's very hard to see the statue looking like this on weekends; almost constantly dressed in costumes recognizing current events, perhaps saluting world leaders in Belgium that day.

Started in Jerusalem. And we had a tour bus for a few days. And we drove all around. Tel Aviv, Dead Sea, Masada (where my cousin was Bar Mitzvah'd), Golan Heights, Bethlehem (saw the manger). So many places. I don't think they can go to the Golan Heights now.

I was 11. But I still have vivid memories. It was amazing. In Jerusalem my parents gave me and my 7 year old brother money and told us just go wander around. We walked through the markets in the old city. Bought tons of Bazooka gum. The comics were in Hebrew.

IMO this was the coolest thing. We walked by a school and there were two boy playing basketball. Turns out they were brothers and we were about the same age. They spoke little english but i spoke a bit of hebrew as I had been in Hebrew school for a couple of years.

We played a friendly game for a while before it got dark and it was time to head back to the hotel. The King David, natch. We saw Danny Kaye checking in. I didn't know who he was at the time but the parents were impressed.

I really want to go back and take my family. My wife would love to go. We want to do a cruise that goes to Israel and Egypt. Again, my wife and kid are not Jewish. But she loves to travel and I think my kid would like it.

And this is a life's mission for me to do:

I missed Haifa and the Golan and really didn't spend any time in Tel Aviv.

Let me know if you ever want some thoughts on Egypt. We did Cairo, Alexandria, El Alamein, Aswan, Luxor, and Mt Sinai. I doubt I ever go back but the trip was amazing.

Iran has killed 15 civilians - mostly elderly, and all civilians.
