Which model? Squires get pretty decent reviews these days. *

but since i'm not much of player i didn't want to spend any money. now i need an amp.

A very cheap amp. I'm going to use a general PA speaker in the meantime. sound doesn't matter until i get better.

Go to GuitarCenter and get a used Blackstar or Boss or Orange and you'll be in heaven...
