Or two services bundled at a nice discount? It would seem to me that people want fewer streaming services, arguing for one. But at what price point?

If they were two services indefinitely, and you were the big boss, how would you distinguish them going forward for investment and priorities?

Maybe Amazon's acquisition of MGM could serve as a model.

simply cannot navigate the tech landscape at all. Disney's tech stack is a disaster and they have spent a fortune building it. The smaller players simply can't even afford to keep the tech updated and they have to be part of an entity that specializes in that or else the content library is impaired. It just sucks all around but there's no stopping it. Either Disney has to own the whole content library or one of the Mag 7 has to. Anything outside of those ecosystems is not going to be viable longer term because the marginal cost of the tech buildout is just too damned high. Sorry to rain on your parade.

But obviously they have a large pile of money. I thought they might buy Paramount. Peacock doesn't really compete. I wonder what the chances are that Disney bails. If so, Apple would be a prime candidate to take over its streaming.

be acquired by Mag 7 with stellar tech distribution or possibly Disney. They are in no-man's land and it is not sustainable as linear TV dies. My son is in WBD at 8 bucks a share so he was over the moon when he saw the deal announced on Squawk this morning. Kid is going to be a better M&A jockey by the time he's 16 than most of the junior associates in these big firms.
