And of course my first thought was, oh God. One of our parents died suddenly.

Nope. Dad spent far too much on some car repairs. Got taken. THAT is what had her so upset. *headslap*

In her defense, she is very protective of our parents. The thought of anyone taking advantage of them or mistreating them in any fashion really upsets her. Especially if she feels as though she someone failed to step in to protect them.

He instead just got upsold on a lot of stuff he probably didn't need. But this is a vehicle he may end up giving one of his grandkids so he was willing pay extra to make absolutely certain everything was as perfect as it could be.

in the air next to the ocean? Everything in Japan within 1-2km of the ocean is rusted to hell because it's a constant fight against all the salt in the air from the ocean and I don't know if that is a problem near you or not.

...or damage in your paint it seems like yes in the area. If you don't and you spray your car off / wash it once in awhile I haven't noticed a buncha rust.

Maybe also "newer" cars just have better materials and paint...because when I see a pre-2000 car still kicking around the neighborhood if it's not a restored car they're usually massively rusted out.

Short answer outta my ass...I have no clue...but I doesn't seem to be as bad as road salt in the upper midwest on cars.

Depending on the fact pattern, this could be a situation where you do

the FratStud complaint approach. If the company is sufficiently large, send a letter to the registered agent listed on the Secretary of State website. I have found that bona fide complaints levied through there with just a modicum of legalese have a 100% resolution rate.
