I blame the feminist movement. Girls are taught from a young age that they are gender victims and that in order defend themselves against, and compete with, their male counterparts, they have to be miserably strident and antagonistic. Gone are the days of sweet little girls raised to be nurturing and supportive of those around them. They are far more likely to self-absorbed gold diggers.
