as far as regions with exception of Florida. Southerners don't consider Florida to be Southern. I learned that when I originally moved to Georgia 40 years ago. There are even more Yankees there now.

What is the matching criteria the defines "the South"?

Which is absolutely correct. But Jefferson County (Louisville) does not. A lot of people from Louisville regard it as being a Southern city. But a lot of people also regard it as a Midwest / Ohio River / Rust Belt city.

But it unfortunately had a terrible, anti-police Democrat mayor during the Covid / Trump Days of Rage who let much of the city become a warzone. Which stil hasn't fully recovered to this day, despite that mayor now being gone.

In the spring of 2019, Mismysteri and I did a nighttime haunted house / ghost walking tour in Old Louisville that I would be a little leery of during these days.
