they criminalized selling personalized sex services (including audio and video) on demand.

i have heard of any state level attempts to do the same, but they seem likely. i don't see a particular reason why it would be preempted by federal law.

I think prostitution should be legalized. Mamdani might win because of it.

Prostitution, porn, gambling, sloth, gluttony, homosexuality- they are all sins with bad consequences. Want to spread death and disease? These all help.

But here’s the rub: some people have issues and government’s role is protecting people. So if someone wants to eat crap, or screw a consenting adult, or gamble or lay around… not government’s job.

And pragmatically, all these incels need an outlet for their sexual needs because modern life (media, diet, lifestyle, attitudes) has set them up for failure, and rather than turning to mass murder and other perversions, let them spend a few bucks. Maybe offer discounts for using the gym or using acne medicine or watching mainstream positive media instead of anime all the time.

""Legal"" dope dispensaries... behind closed doors. And I don't know all the rules, but I don't think you can just be puffing away outside a McDonald's or Dairy Queen. AFAIK, buy it and take it home.

Now, hookers?? In the legal areas of Nevada; kinda similar to dope dispensaries (AFAIK). All on-properties, you got to seek them out. With that said... classic Times Square in NYC or plenty of other places today in the US: the hookers will be seeking out customers on the street.

All in all, might not happen within my lifetime. But sooner or later, something will start like they do in Nevada; and then competition will start.

Regulate it state by state. Local regulation would be too complex.

The government can't ban speech or books for adults that are below a vague level of pornography or involve specific criminal activities, such as using children.

On July 1, Maryland started a new tax on digital services. My wife's Apple Cloud bill of a buck a month is now three cents higher. I can't quite tell the full extent of the tax, yet anything like OnlyFans has to be in line as a revenue source. Not as something to ban.

Once states threw in the towel on state-sponsored gambling and got immediately addicted to gambling revenue (no surprise: Maryland's cut went up July 1), they don't want to take on other revenue generators.
