The group blamed Israel for the attack, which damaged the front section of the ship, in the latest confrontation over efforts to send assistance to the Palestinian territory devastated by nearly 19 months of war.

The Israeli government says the blockade is an attempt to pressure Hamas to release hostages it took during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that triggered the conflict. Hamas-led militants assaulted southern Israel that day, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting 251. Hamas is still holding 58 hostages, 23 of whom are believed to be alive.

In response, Israel launched an offensive that has killed over 52,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between fighters and civilians. Israel’s bombardment and ground operations have destroyed vast areas of the territory and left most of its population homeless.

The Flotilla group was only the latest among a growing number of critics to accuse Israel of genocidal acts in its war in Gaza. Israel vehemently denies the allegations, saying its war is directed at Hamas militants, not Gaza’s civilians.

“We are breaking the siege of Gaza by sea, but that’s part of a broader strategy of mobilizations that will also attempt to break the siege by land,” said activist Thiago Avila.

... The ship is reported to be carrying urgently needed supplies for the people of Gaza, including baby formula, flour, rice, diapers, women’s sanitary products, water desalination kits, medical supplies, crutches, and children’s prosthetics. The group acknowledged to Reuters that it is a limited but symbolic amount of relief supplies.

And thus you once again need special permission from the ATF. But in addition to your $200 tax stamp, a licensed and registered full auto sear is going to cost you at least $15,000.

Yes, many decent gunsmiths probably can convert semi-autos to full autos. But they won't. The legal penalties are far too severe. And those who will do it likely cannot do it correctly. And your full auto rifle will quickly disintegrate.

Some rifles identify as pistols. And vice versa. And since the average liberal doesn't . . .

Under the National Firearms Act (NFA), rifles have to have a barrel length of at least 16". Any rifles with shorter barrels are short-barrled rifles which require special permission from the ATF to own (and a $200 tax!). UNLESS those short-barrel rifles have a "brace" as opposed to a "stock" In which case they are lawful (for now) braced pistols.

I shouldn't have to explain this. It's all common sense.

In practice, there is very little difference.

That top firearm is equipped with a traditional stock and thus it is classified as a rifle.

The botton firearm is equipped with a "brace". Which in that particular example is far, far more like a traditional stock than it is an actual brace (see below). But nonetheless, that brace magcially turns the firearm into a pistol.

Early stabilizing braces looked something like the one in the link below. They permitted disabled persons (many of whom were veterans) to use firearms one handed / one armed. And pretty quickly, people discovered that many braces could be shouldered and used just like a more traditional stock. And just like that, genie was out of the bottle. Braces gradually became more and more stock-like over time. The brace in your example is a brace simply because it doesn't have all of the surface area against the shoulder that a traditional stock would. But it has plenty to get a good, steady shouldering of the fireamr.
