Anyway, window signage at least. I truly could not tell you if there were TV ads, but I wonder if even the cost of the in-store marketing was covered; much less whatever they paid her for her endorsement.

If ANYONE cared at all, this type of thing would be taught in marketing classes for years to come.

It is hard to argue that Caitlin Clark is not the face of the WNBA, given the significance of her absence to the league. Facing a two-week hiatus due to a quad injury, the Indiana Fever's star guard being out has sent the WNBA ticket market into a complete and utter free fall.

Before the season began, teams were relocating their games to bigger arenas in town to accommodate the fan ticket demand for the games when Caitlin Clark came to town. Ticket prices soared, and it was a must-see event.

The Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky are set to play on June 7 in a game that was moved to the United Center, the home of the NBA's Chicago Bulls, with more capacity, and has since seen prices go into a free fall, dropping more than 70%.

Tickets just to get into the arena were sitting at $86 and have dipped to $25.

Ticket prices for the rest of the Fever's games during Clark's absence have also fallen. Based on the data via TickPick, all of their games during the next two weeks have seen a 42% drop in ticket prices.

The rapid plunge in ticket prices shows the fan interest and desire to view Catilin Clark and the Indiana Fever in person. Ticket prices taking this sort of dive only exacerbate her spot as the face of the WNBA early into just her second year in the league.

Caitlin Clark's earliest return to action would come after June 9, as that is when she is set to be evaluated once again and determine if she can return to the court or continue recovery.

peripheral top 10-ish level of program since Vivian Stringer ran it in the '80's, I don't think Clark generates any staying power for the game at all. People just want to see her.

The Iowa fans are back because they realize the bar to maybe get lucky one year and be able to topple a UConn or SC type of program potentially exists and Iowa can pull it off with NIL money, something they could never hope for in football or MBB. But without Clark getting them to back to back natties, I think they would be selling 4k tickets at most. That slight taste of there maybe possibly being a chance will get the Iowa fans out in droves, but again, that only exists because of a century plus of goodwill that the school has with its fanbase, the WNBA fans ain't cheering for the laundry, they're cheering for Caitlin.

The valuation was done by Chicago investment bank Loop Capital’s advisory practice.

It's purely a vanity play that I would say is akin to a capital drive for a private school and it has absolutely no basis in reality relative to the value of the underlying asset using any sort of traditional valuation metric.
