If you woulda told me that she gets a bump in salary, as a lifelong Chicago resident I'd be shocked. Shocked, I tell ya.
(Chicago State was a huge diploma mill for teachers going part time for their Master's back in the day.)
And.... do you really think there are people who run around calling themselves "doctor" because of an honorary degree?? Pshaw...
From AI:
Dr. Willie Wilson is a prominent Chicago-based entrepreneur, philanthropist, and politician. Born in rural Louisiana, he rose from a sharecropper to become one of the first Black McDonald's franchise owners, the founder of Omar Medical Supplies, and the creator of the nationally syndicated gospel television program Singsation.
He is best known for his extensive community philanthropy and his frequent runs for public office, which include multiple campaigns for Chicago Mayor, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. Presidency.

...but it's in Education, probably the lowest of any professional doctorate. Almost nobody respects that degree, and thus she opens herself to ridicule, earned or not. At least she's not one of those idiots who wants to be called Doctor after an honorary degree alone.
My kids had teachers and administrators with that degree - and the extra salary that went with it - who insisted on being called Doctor. Ok, sure.
