It was when Streeterville was just a few tall buildings and a bunch of 3 story parking garages and tiny shacks, like my old favorite hot dog spot, Hot Diggity Dog. There were two or three towers going up at the time of the election and I saw about 2 dozen hard hat bros voting at my precinct. Ain't a snowball's chance in hell those dudes lived a block away from Navy Pier. Shadiest shit I've ever seen, but maybe they had some dispensation to vote their precinct ballots in the 42nd Ward or something. I don't know what the hell was going on, but again, not a snowball's chance in hell I'd bet against a dude who went from no-name to taking down Natarus.

There's little chance (IMHO) that anyone will beat Preckwinkle, very few try AFAIK.
Anyway, current TV commercial (trying to influence an election almost a year away???) is yapping about how Brendan Riley, who is competing against Preckwinkle and is currently the alderman for a lot of the River North area, actually APPROVED that Trump sign on Trump Tower!!! DEFACING OUR CITY VIEWS!!!
Shh: he didn't have a choice in the matter. The city would have faced the mother of all lawsuits if Riley woulda turned down the sign being okayed by the Zoning Board (or whatever).
Anyway, city of Chicago politics at its finest!! FWIW: She's 78 y.o. right now... meaning she'll be roughly 83 upon the completion of her next term.
