going to become poorer on some level no matter what they do, but the standard of living will actually go up in many respects as these places become less crowded. If they try to maintain the populations of Tokyo or Seoul by making the population 25-50% Indian and north African immigrants it is going to turn these places into absolute shitholes.

The number of retirees as a fraction of the population will be huge. Payroll and income taxes will likely be short and expenses will be very high.
