A horrible rash of vehicle thefts for the past few years (evolved out of the Covid / Brianna Taylor chaos). Many occurring late at night / early in the morning. In otherwise nice neighborhoods. And most of the perps are minors.

Right now, there is a bipartisan effort to reverse a policy put into place by the prior Democrat mayor (who was absolutely horrible), that prohibited most police chases in the city. The new policy would give police greater freedom to pursue these late night / early morning vehicle thieves.
