the first game I ever went to some the hawks were playing the kings. Some of the guys weren't wearing helmets and some where. That blew my mind. At one point Doug Wilson got cross-checked in the face and went down in a bloody mess. They took him off the ice. I was worried for him. But my dad told me that hockey players were different. And that they'd take him back to the locker room (dressing room) and stitch him up and that he'd come back out.

Sure enough at the start of the next period there he was in all his non-helmeted glory. And that was the coolest thing i had ever seen. I became a fan of his forever.

Even though he hasn't said the greatest things about the Hawks ever since he left the organ-i-zation.
