i went "headline only" on this, but i'd assume the allegation is that kenpom is used in some way by the selection committee... and so if there is bias in the formula, it prejudices them by reducing their chances of a high seed/tourney invitation. as to the latter question, i can't imagine there is an advantage to kenpom... nor can i imagine that they are doing it. i assume what happens is they have a value for coaches based upon a statistical model... and cooley found that he, and some of his black colleagues, werent highly regarded by that metric. he presumes it to be evidence of bias.. whereas im just presuming the reality is he isn't a top coach.. Previous Message And/or, KenPom's advantage to doing this?
