In 2022 (quick search) there were about 2.25 million public and private k-12 students.

so while 3500 is a lot, not sure you can judge Illinois academic excellence by their performance.

Again, I've seen the overall 'ratings' and Illinois is a middling state, nothing to brag about.

representative of Illinois academic excellence. Now, don't take that to mean that I'm defending CPS or anything. Just saying that that chart is not really representative of the whole.
