One guy I spent some time with earlier this year seemed a decent sort. He was walking from the shelter to a nearby hardware store to see if he could perhaps pick up some day labor. Veteran who was bankrupted by medical bills and some other problems.

Before the end of the year, I am going to make a donation to the Shriners in memory of uncle (godfather) who passed away last year. He loved children and always had money for children's charities.

My mother once told me that it doesn't really much matter what a homeless person or someone else in need does with the money or items you give them. All that matters is that you tried your best to help. That is all that matters to God.
