Pritzker signed legislation to protect individuals seeking abortions in Illinois from legal repercussions in other states. This includes shielding patients, providers, and those assisting them from legal action and extradition related to providing or obtaining abortion care.
....and....
Illinois as a "Safe Haven":
-Out-of-State Patients:
Pritzker has repeatedly emphasized that Illinois will remain a safe and accessible place for individuals seeking abortions from states with restrictive laws.
-Increased Demand:
Illinois has seen a significant increase in patients traveling from other states for abortion care since the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
-Addressing Concerns:
Pritzker and other state leaders have acknowledged the potential for legal challenges from other states and have taken steps to address those concerns.
Overall, Pritzker's actions demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting and expanding abortion access in Illinois, positioning the state as a leader in reproductive rights in the Midwest and beyond, according to the Chicago Abortion Fund.

You'll just have to trust me here, but that returns when you search Google for "Pritzker IL Abortions".
For me, overall, this isn't something I can completely disagree with. Take the decisions out of Washington; move them closer to the people involved.
Now, would I like it not to be dictated from Springfield, maybe something closer to a county level? Sure. But.. baby steps.
