Coaches are like politicians. If they want to do it, it means they absolutely 100% are not the right person to be doing the job.

50% of parents cannot deal with little johnny not making the “A” team or not being the center of the offense. Everyone thinks their kids is better than most all of the other kids.

98% of parents don’t understand that it doesn’t matter if you are a star at 9 years old and that likely isn’t going to continue past puberty…..and they also don’t understand that some of the “B” team kids are going to be absolute studs after puberty.

The amount of shit talking parents and coaches do about kids in sports is reason enough to cancel all club sports.

Our old soccer club was so toxic that the villainess and I (along with a few other parents assisting) left 2 years ago and started our own club. In the last 24 months we’ve grown to 150 players and 11 teams. After year 1 I was so burned out with awful coaches and parents that I stepped down from the club I founded…..and a year after that we are now considering leaving our own club because of the continued toxic nonsense. People literally left the old club because of the toxic culture, yet those same people have devolved our brand new club into the same mess in just 2 years.

Adults in youth sports are the worst.
