That’s kinda the point- biggest lesson is there is always someone better
Contrary to Vince Lombardi, learning to lose with grace is a valuable lesson for all human beings, and sports helps us with that. True, some kids learn sooner than others, but eventually the values of fairness, honesty, humility, hard work, gratefulness, and acceptance work their way through in ways you don’t find in family, life, school… maybe work. Competition brings out the worst in people, but also the best. My kids competed, won some, lost some- that’s life.
