It's tough because parks and rec is now complete garbage because most "talented" kids play club

and rec is left with parent volunteer coaches who probably never even played the sport and the kids are often very beginner level. There is a sliding scale of bad based on the motor skill needs of the sport (basketball being the worst and a complete foul & double dribble fest at the rec level).
We really end up with the worst case scenario with the current state of rec and club kids sports. Youth sports should be focused solely on skill development and love of the game. Instead we get little skill development in rec leagues and just pure money extraction in club leagues.
