But if not, I can’t stress cycling and walking enough. After several years of near constant pain from my sciatic nerve, I started cycling and it changed my life. In 2 months the pain was 90% gone from 30 minutes a day of doing the peloton.
Now I’ve mainly switched to walking 80 minutes a day but the pay off is the same. I still have issues in the car or plane after 2 hours, but otherwise never anything else. If I would add in daily stretching I’m pretty sure I’d get to 100% good.
Good luck, I know the struggle sucks.
I hurt my back really low about a month ago and while that has healed up, I've had come and go sciatic pain since. It's been pretty severe when I sit for any appreciable amount of time...even like driving home from work for like a half hour / 40 minutes.
I was just doing some stretches and using a foam roller and telling my wife it felt like I had a bunch of lower back pressure that needed to be released...and while we were talking about it...CRACK. It sounded like a fucking tree branch. We both looked at each other and it was exactly the pop I was talking about.
I'm sure I still have some inflamation but I can't feel any pain at all right now...which is kinda wild.
Is it possible that I maybe had a slipped / misaligned disk that just snapped back into a semi-appropriate position?
I'm so happy I could dance a fucking jig (and probably reinjure myself). Moral of the story, careful getting old.
