The difference with Woodman was that he crafted that long ball style effectively, piling players forward and getting balls into the box, putting pressure on opposition defences.
We see the long ball at the highest levels and we know there is a time and place for it, but we don't have the quality to play out from the back and even the very best teams get caught out doing it, so it's a fine balance.
I remember us trying to play the ball out from the back (under unsworth i think) and we made mistakes and our fans were going mad.
