Take Chilvers as an example. Mellon bought him. He's hardly put his boots on. He gets to start and he scores. So he starts the next game, and he's off at half time.
No criticism of Ollie Hammond, but he played striker on Saturday whilst Chilvers spent 90 mins on the bench.
This is the level of stupidity that Mellon displays week in week out.
I suspect we may have reached the stage where the players have decided collectively to 'do what they are told'. Nothing more. We know that they can play football, we have seen it. But they aren't.
Anyone know what the current win percentage is for Mellon. This season it's 22%. We are currently on target to accumilate around 40 pts this season. Are we the only people that can see what the problem is. Or are we the only people that care.
I believe a second stint in the NL will not see the fans stick with the club like they did last time.
Frank saved us. He's a legend. And as big a character as he is. He hasn't shown a great deal of ambition since we got back into the league.
Mellon had a free ride last season. He did ok, eventually getting to the play offs, then we went into another slump and we missed out. This season, nothing short of a play off place is acceptable. We are not going to get there without a huge change. It needs to be now.
Frank has to bite the bullet. It's going to cost him which ever route he chooses. The signs are there that the attendance is falling. As Peg said on Saturday. He watched it on TV, with two ST holders!
