Results continue to be topsy-turvey since the season kicked off. Saturdays loss at home to Chesterfield has the faithful beginning the inquisition as to Micky Mellons tactics, or lack thereof. The manager has had a long period to get a settled team but his constant tinkering with the squad, and his tactics of 'not losing' instead of sending his team out with the objective being to 'win' causes further questions as to whether he has taken the team as far as he can. Next Saturday is the 'el classico flat cap' derby at neighbours Rochdale. They have just appointed a new manager and no excuses of new manager bounce will be accepted by the Latics faithful. A win is imperative as the Latics' board have set a promotion target for this season.
