When I played (a long time ago) referees always had to judge the following possible hand ball situations.

Was it HAND to ball??? OR Was it BALL to hand???
because ball to hand was always play on for sure.

Or is this not applicable these days? because if not then a lot of very skilful players will start doing it on a regular basis in and around the box, Hoping for the best, as in yesterdays very poor decision, which was diabolically inadequate in the extreme from this official at our level.
