Now I've got going, how can you have a Champions League when you don’t just let the champions enter? The Europa League is also a joke - Unirea Urziceni? Who are they? Even Accrington Stanley are more famous than them! Then what about the Intercontinental Club Cup, European Super Cup and the World Club Championship? It’s all money driven.
Many supporters struggle at work all week so they can save enough to watch the weekend match whether it be at home or away. They also deprive themselves of basics, let alone luxuries, so they will have a few ’extra bob’ for a pint or three and a pie at the match. It’s gone money crazy and supporters now need to work many hours of overtime just to keep up with league games. Where is it going to end?
What next? I can see in the not too distant future an inter-gallactic league where the stars will actually be coming from the stars. Can you imagine Pluto v Earth played on a cold Tuesday night. It would be worse than visiting Ice Station Zebra at Oldham. If it does ever come to that I expect Fergie will be re-employed as he will have to redefine a light year to replace Fergie time for time added on at Old Trafford.
