Unfortunately, season ticket sales will probably take a bit of a blip with our failure to make the playoffs and recent disappointing results and performances.

Attendances were building nicely and a five figure crowd would almost certainly have been expected for our next home game against Salford.

We need to keep the momentum going and show our intent for next season with a few stellar signings, however, current contracts don’t end until June which is after the early bird period has finished so that might not be possible.

Successful recruitment and a big improvement in our home form will be absolutely crucial to our chances of promotion next season. We cannot afford a slow start and will have to be ‘on it’ right from the start.

Mellon wasn’t under too much pressure this season as consolidation was probably the aim, however, next season it will be a totally different story.

Mid table mediocrity will not be an option and there’ll be no bedding in period either. IMO, Mellon will almost certainly need to have us up in the top seven and challenging for the automatic places.

Next season is going to be interesting to say the least!
