Can’t blame the player if there’s no news. It’s all a bit wierd, I don’t get it. If you fork out to see a show ( or plan to ) the least you expect is to know who’s performing. It shows a disregard for fans. Keeping other managers guessing excuse is codswallop - if they want to find out who’s injured they can- they all know each other.
