It was Jimmy Frizzell who called Joe's team "Yard Dogs". After we played Man City when Jim had a spell in charge at City. It was basically down to Mike Milligan and Nicky Henry who were "hounding" the City midfield. A little while later Black and White Dalmation blow up dogs went on sale in the shop and hundreds where sold which we all waved about during games and chanted "Yard Dogs". It was about 1988.
