Yeah I agree about Daniels but to be fair he’s played his part recently.
The biggest negative for me is Pett who struggles to find a Latics shirt most of the time. He’s 35 now so we definitely need an upgrade and I’m not sure whether Conlon, also the wrong side of 30 will make a successful come back after what was a very serious injury.
If we’re in this division next season and we keep this squad together less one or two departures, 4 or 5 quality additions will be more than enough to challenge for the title!
We probably need another striker,(Mellon?), a proper No.10 & another midfielder + a CB and decent right back like Robson.
Sutton’s not let us down but struggles against pace and his true position is probably CB.
We’ve been absolutely superb during this unbeaten run and I don’t ever want to see the safety first style that we have been served up for the vast majority of Mellon’s tenure.
Maybe it was due to injuries and/or making sure we stayed up but when we play on the front foot we are a very difficult side to beat…..long may it continue!
