It's okay saying the the Gills had an off day but why did they? They can only play as well as we let them and we stifled and broke them down with some great defending. The whole defence, especially Daniels, played really well and Hudson had a stormer with a couple of goal stopping shots but the majority of the homers efforts were blazed over the bar or were badly missed. Fondop was back to his best and could it be coincidental that it coincided with a couple of games in the starting line up instead of the bench?
I hope and pray that Mellon will now allow us to play the ball on the ground like we did yesterday because it really does pay off as the travelling 300ish supporters would confirm. I was speaking to an older spectator at the end of the match who declared that it was the best performance of the season! If we can be entertained like that for the rest of the season then I will happily pay my money and watch as many games as possible.
We are unbeaten in three games now so the same format MUST be continued, beginning with the visit of Crawley Town on Saturday. I rest my case.
