Why are we getting into these big physical battles against a huge centre half they had last night?
I bet he had one of the easiest nights of his life as we kept throwing the ball up onto his head.
Just a radical idea here but why don't we get the ball on the ground and play round big stumps like him with skill and creativity?
Mellon keeps rattling on about having to win personal physical battles, and never talks about strategy and what we are trying to do creatively.
The best 2 performances we have had since Mellon arrived at this club were Halifax at home, and York away in the playoffs when we kept the ball on the ground more.
OK, we hit Fondops head v halifax but with an accurate cross when he was in space and not with his back to goal. In the away game at York ,very few high balls.
For argument's sake, let's say Mellon has now been in charge for 100 games for us, how many times have we played well?...ten maybe? and that's being generous.
How many proper proper footballing, flowing moves have we done that have carved through the opposition with skill and creativity, instead of luck? Very few.
If he doesn't change something, the writing is on the wall for him and we will be in a dogfight.
