No bobby, i'm talking about steve Thompson who became caretaker manager(i think) who won his first 3 games in charge then drew the next 3 and left because he wasn't offered the full time manager's role.
I thought he may have been given the role even if it was a 1 year contract simply because he had produced some good results and we weren't doing well at the time.
He played for latics in the past as did redfearn the guy he brought in to be his assistant, but we will never know how they would have fared.
