…I took from yesterday’s game was the sheer amount of effort put in by every player. Numerous times both Garner and Mellon came back into their own halves to make ball-winning tackles. Hammond was a revelation, covering every blade of grass. Hannant the same and Pett putting in his usual shift. Even Drummond when he joined the fray was like the Duracell bunny. Things only went awry in the last 15 minutes with MM’s puzzling substitutions, when somehow we wound up with four strikers on the pitch. All in all though it was every player pulling for each other, a real team effort.
